This was the best price I found on the internet for a latex topper.

My son has a platform loft bed upon which we've layered two thin (Japanese style, ~2-3 inch) futons--one cotton, one wool--to keep the mattress weight(s) manageable and to create the most natural, chemical-free bed we could afford for a kid young enough that accidents, illness, and just silly kid stuff could ruin in one afternoon!

Recently, my son has said his bed isn't soft enough. He's growing, and he weighs more. The bed was pretty firm. We considered a memory foam topper, which was easy to find and much cheaper, but, having purchased one of those before, we remembered the terrible stink when new. Besides, memory foam is (always? almost always?) a petroleum product. It wasn't our first choice.

Latex was the best alternative, offering great support and at least somewhat sustainable production, so I searched until finding this particular topper.
